The Changing Communities Movement (CCM) Foundation was formed in 2006 out of the inherent need to find an alternate means of addressing the issues of teen sex and sexual disease awareness. Our unique approach is to “educate through entertainment”. Our particular focus uses music and artists to inform and educate an urban youth population that typically shuns traditional attempts provided by more mainstream approaches. Since it’s inception, we have grown our outreach to include, not only sexually transmitted diseases, but cancer and women’s health issues. is now the main component of the all encompassing CCM Health & Wellness...

Our Mission

Our mission is to use the Hip Hop culture as a vehicle to promote STI/HIV and cancer awareness and education to youth in African-American and Latino communities.

To be the constant voice in the community that can be recognized as a leader in innovative approaches to STI/HIV and cancer education and prevention.

PSA Campaign

Our PSA Campaign is another highlight.  We work with stars from a variety of fields to further enhance our message of awareness.


  • ART ON THE STREETS - CCM's "Art on the Streets" contest enlists HISD middle school students to submit artwork based on a particular theme.  Currently the theme is "World AIDS Day".  In 2017 over 500 kids submitted artwork and the contest had a grand prize of $1000 and a second prize of $500.   Learn More
  • CHAD "PIMP C" BUTLER HEALTH & WELLNESS FESTIVAL - From it's inception this event has held special meaning.  Created to help expand upon the legacy of legendary Texas Rapper, Chad "Pimp C" Butler.  CCM, along with UGQ, founded by Chinara Butler,  Pimp C's widow, have in essence brought the legend to a new and exciting level.  This unique event covers HIV/STD awareness issues and testing along with various disorders such as sleep apnea, which contributed to Chad's untimely passing.  With the inaugural event heldin Chad Butler's home town of Port Arthur and moved the next year to Houston to capitalize on a larger community.  Learn More
  • WELL WOMAN EXTRAVAGANZA - The CCM Foundation, Swishablast LLC, and the University of Houston Collegiate Cancer Council-(UHCCC) are pleased to announce their collaborative effort to present the Well-Woman Extravaganza. The sponsors of this unique event have joined in the fight to stop the spread of breast and cervical cancer and raise awareness on the importance of annual exams for women for early cancer detection. As with all CCM events, there will also be a definite focus on HIV/STD awareness. Join us on the University of Houston Main Campus every October as we come together to raise awareness to women of Houston communities. This event provides heightened visibility to the cancer awareness programs of the UHCCC and efforts to further cervical cancer research. Learn More
  • SWISHAHOUSE WORLD AIDS DAY - World AIDS Day, observed December 1 each year, is dedicated to raising awareness of the AIDS pandemic caused by the spread of HIV infection. It is common to hold memorials to honor persons who have died from HIV/AIDS on this day. Government and health officials also observe the event, often with speeches or forums on the AIDS topics. Since 1995, the President of the United States has made an official proclamation on World AIDS Day. Governments of other nations have followed suit and issued similar announcements. Learn More
  • HOUSTON SPLASH: LGBT PRIDE CELEBRATION - Houston Splash is a premiere urban LGBT event for the Southern United States. Houston Splash caters to African-American and Latino LGBT men and women from across the country. Ever year Houston Splash hosts more than 7,500 guests from varying segments of the LGBT community.
